A newly created position has become available for an experienced Project/Engineering Manager to help build a specialist equipment manufacturer in Greenock . We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-starting and highly capable engineering project manager with experience managing complex engineering implementations who is looking to take the next steps in an ambitious career. This opportunity is not for the fainthearted and will require levels of professional dedication well beyond the norm. We are a no passengers business and are relentless in our pursuit of delivery. The Engineering Projects Manager will fill a key role within a fast paced growth business which is part of a €4bn engineering and design business specialising in the conversion of plastic for packaging and non-packaging products. The successful individual will have the opportunity to join a highly focused and dedicated management team at a pivotal moment. The successful candidate will oversee the design, development, manufacture and installation of a range of commercial machinery that is central to the overall packaging system we sell to customers. They will also play a key role in the innovation and product design process by coordinating the design and manufacture of our own manufacturing equipment required to make packaging consumables On a daily basis they will coordinate all engineering aspects of the business and will manage installations at new customers, provide support/input into design/development of machines, oversee installation of our own specialist manufacturing equipment, manage relationships with in group equipment manufacturers/third party OEMs. Commercially awareness is essential - the candidate will interface with customers during commercial discussions to inform, devise and present winning engineering proposals. They must be willing to go the extra mile to deliver on time and add value to these engagements with customers, particularly because each installation establishes a long standing relationship with a customer via the supply of consumables in addition to the additional installations that will result following successful completion of initial installs. They must have an engineering background, preferably from a machine manufacturing background. Additionally beverage sector experience, specifically canning/bottling machinery, is also desirable. It would also be highly beneficial if the candidate had some experience of mechanical design They must also be able to demonstrate they have the latest approach to project management and possess high levels of IT proficiency including Microsoft Project or similar, communication/presentation skills. Some CAD experience is also desirable for the purposes of designing/overseeing implementation layout planning. The candidate must be fully flexible - willing to work to our customers timetables and able to travel extensively/internationally with little notice.
